Hash Curing Temperature: Guidelines for Frozen, Static and WPFF

If you want a rough guideline to start from, you can follow the rules of thumb below.

But keep in mind: every material is a unique product, created through a lot of work and love, with big differences in soil, altitude, air quality, storage, harvest and water. That's why every strain and every season behaves a little differently during the curing process. It's always wise to start carefully and check regularly.

Using vacuum bags is important, because they keep your product compact and let the oils distribute evenly. They also prevent deformation.

Curing Temperature Guidelines

MaterialTemperatureDuration
Frozen30–34 °C (86–93 °F)12–48 hours
Static21–27 °C (70–81 °F)3–6 days, up to 14 days at low, gentle temperatures
WPFF25 °C (77 °F)up to 8 days

Five Checkpoints for Uncured Material

If your material arrives uncured, follow these checkpoints:

  1. The material warms up, which starts important processes.
  2. Your product begins to change from hard to soft.
  3. Oils slowly begin to release, and a first change in the surface becomes visible.
  4. The slab or eggs slowly start to firm up again. The oil is evenly distributed, terpenes are released and THC crystallization begins.
  5. The product is hard again and has an oily surface. The actual process is now complete.

The Finishing Touch: Cold Relax

If you want an even more beautiful, higher-quality product, take the time to let the material relax cold at 4–8 °C (39–46 °F) for a few hours. The oily surface crystallizes further and ends up with a glossy, shimmering effect.

Why a Constant Temperature Matters

The values above only work if the temperature stays stable throughout the entire process. Even a few degrees of deviation change the duration and the result. A curing fridge like the CureLab XL or the compact CureLab M curing machine holds any temperature between 1 and 64 °C precisely, from warm curing to the cold relax.
